Journo’s temper tantrum shows wokeism mobilizes victim for power
The mastermind behind the now largely debunked “1619 Project” obtained university tenure despite the fact that it did not go through the tenure process – or even hiring – just because it campaigns for racism, who categorically rejects the civil rights laws of the 1960s, and whose ideological champions tacitly condemn Martin Luther King, Jr. for his complicity in maintaining “white supremacy.” She was a fashion hire. A cult “get”. She is neither a teacher nor a scholar: it is the flavor of the month.
Now this is Power.
We live under a tyranny of fabricated victimization. If, as the new racial essentialists insist, racism is a structural idea that rejects individualism and is rather a function of collective power based on unchanging traits, it’s time to look at the academy, K-12 schools. , NEA / AFT / ACLU, Hollywood, Big Tech, corporate media and awakened capital, and ask who really has power, and so, by their own standards, are they guilty of increasingly “systemic” racism?
Racial essentialism – often hidden behind euphemisms like Orwellian “racial consciousness” or “anti-racism” – is the racial theory shared by supporters of critical race praxis, black separatists, the Klan, the Nazis, the PCC and Imperial Japan. , to name a handful of followers.
They differ only on who is presented as the antagonist in their narrative of identity politics.
To refine this observation, I will note that white nationalist Richard Spencer, who returned to Party D in 2020, joked, “Individualism is for queers” – reinforcing the thesis of my 2015 article in The Federalist where I I supported white nationalism is just a competing collectivist narrative, opposed to other collectivist narratives (like, for example, La Raza, or later, BLM).
These various identity political tensions are all products of the left: just as Stalin, Hitler and Mussolini fought for control of socialism, so do identity politics fetishists for the domination of a particular collective. Intersectionality – another illiberal Marxist guide rail – was designed and introduced to put an academic thumb on the scales, to rig Olympic casualties while further atomizing society into competing identity factions.
The United States is a propositional nation. As such, it will necessarily fail under the weight of government sanctioned racism and tribalism.
We have won.
But for people who grapple with agitated racial tensions by filtering all knowledge through an epistemological framework that is both racist and Marxist (class consciousness of “vulgar Marxism” has been reconfigured with race consciousness, / oppressed) , racial harmony is bad for business. In fact, “color blindness” has been redefined as an enhancement of “white supremacy”.
As I wrote in 2005An obvious problem with the grievance aspect of identity politics is that the grievance must be perpetually maintained in order to justify the identity aspect of politics. There was never any question of “social justice” or “racial justice”. In fact, anti-racism argues that anti-white racism is justified to bring “fairness” – or equality of outcome. He is collectivist and redistributionalist. It is anti-individual, anti-choice, anti-liberal and anti-freedom. It’s a question of power, nothing more.
Going back, a crook demanding – and receiving – a warrant based entirely on ideological claims shared with the Klan, is no small thing; instead I would say it is all.
Somewhere Bull Connor is smiling.
